Producing & Pre-Production
Every organized production starts with an excel sheet.
My production bibles keep everything a shoot needs in one place, from the first rough budget to the call sheet that goes out to cast and crew.

What's Inside My Production Bibles
Every production is different, so my production bibles have lots of different tabs. I always include the same three essentials.
01 · Shooting Schedule
Where I Got My Start
My first real experience with production planning was as an Assistant Director on someone else's student film. It was only the second student film I had ever worked on, and I was in charge of a large shooting schedule over the course of a very long weekend.
Mapping out every scene, shoot day and location showed me how much a good schedule holds a production together. Now I use that same approach when I plan my own projects, as well as refer back to that first one as my go to template.
02 · Budget
I build every budget by first throwing down thoughts and quick numbers, and then going through and cleaning up as I go.
The Rough Draft
I start by making a budget myself. It's less formal, just a way to get my thoughts together and see what the project will need. The director and other important people on the project have access to this to add things in as needed
The Final Version
Next, I have AI build a formal budget template. Then I go through it myself adding things in as I go and check that every formula and number is correct.
03 · Call Sheet
The Final Piece
The call sheet is what gets sent out to the cast and crew. It tells everyone where to be, when to be there and what's happening that day.
It's always the last thing I make, because it depends on everything else being fully finalized first.
